About Us

Kayla Cooley

Kayla is currently doing a PhD at the Technological University of the Shannon, she is part of both the Loss & Grief Research Group and the Health, Education and Social Research Group. Kayla’s research focus is suicide and related issues.

Kayla is also co-founder and director of Community Crisis Response Team, a well-established non-profit organization traveling to people in suicidal distress 365 nights a year.

Aside from her studies and charity work, one of Kayla’s big passions is in educating and facilitating change in how we respond to suicide. You can learn more about Kayla here.


Caitriona Mc Mahon

Caitriona Mc Mahon is a PG researcher at the Technological University of the Shannon, she is part of the ASCEND Research Group (Applied Social Care Education and practice in New Directions). Caitriona’s research focus is in the area of childhood trauma.

Caitriona is also co-founder and director of Community Crisis Response Team.

Aside from her studies and charity work, Caitriona is passionate about building knowledge and offering insight from her own personal story of struggling with suicidal thoughts. You can learn more about Caitriona here.
